I officially HATE Kies...

I loved iTunes and am within a whisker of getting an iPhone back as KIES sucks... I have a MAC anyone recommend an operating system/phone management software that may persuade me to keep my S5?!?
All help appreciated!
S :-)

I don't think there is any other piece of software, I'm afraid.

I use :Android.com.

It works pretty good with any Android phone, but make sure you uninstall the Kies software from your Mac before installing this.

Kies works good on a Windows 7 computer.

It is not fancy, but it does work and reliably.

I have an old Apple G4 laptop somewhere, but I can't find it to try it out on there.

hi, appreciate your replies guys...
I tried removing anything to do with Samsung (Kies and SmartSwitch) and other programmes like double twist etc, and if I try and open Android.com then it just says unable to find device, please restart or reconnect?!?
Getting soooooo frustrated now!

I'm lost.... the phone does, or your computer does?

First for me, was unaware of that www.Android.com website.

I just went to it on my Win7 computer and the website is up.

If your computer is not finding it, and it is finding other websites, then I suspect that your ISP is having trouble finding that site.

Try a different browser, I have sometimes, not often, but occasionally found that a different browser will do the trick.

I use Firefox on the PC, but use Chrome a lot when a website don't like firefox.

Im so sorry, I'm not making myself clear... I have downloaded the MAC version of the software but that message comes up when I try and open the said Android.com software... Apologies again.

I'm done then. I don't have a Mac anymore, sold it back in the '80s when Steve Jobs made me mad with his high prices for software and hardware.

i don't no nothing much about iTunes or macs so im probably not too helpful but i don't like Keis either... i just connect my phone to my computer and transfer what in need as if i was connecting a usb stick drive... to me it sounds like you might need to install/reinstall the Samsung drivers to get the mac to recognize the phone...

sorry i couldn't be much more help
good luck

edit...
a quick search led me here... i think they are the correct drivers
