Root I really need some help Please!!

Ok, so I rooted my phone a couple of months ago. the end of last week verizon sent out an update which my phone tried to automatically install. I think I stopped it, not sure. In the thread below, as was recommended, I froze the download file that gets the updates.

Now it seems my phone is back to normal but for one thing, my computer won't recognize it. Not when it's set to sync, disk, or anything. I get an error message that says something like "unrecognized USB device".

Can someone please PLEASE give me some suggestions as to how I can get my phone back to be recognized by my computer? Without this, I can't sync my calendar at all.

I really need some help here. I make my living off that calendar.

I would try flashing your current rom again (on top of your current setup without wiping, that way you won't lose anything) and going through your SD card contents looking for anything that has been changed/added.
After doing this, what happens when you plug in your phone?

Make sure you wipe all cache and dalvik cache as well. I had the same problem a month or so ago. I rebooted into CWM and wiped everything and reflashed. My computer recognized it after I did this.

I'm just using the Revolutionary ROM that I got after I rooted. I'll try wiping all the cashe now and see.

Is there some way to re-flash Revolutionary?

Go into your Recovery. Scroll down to install ROM from SD card. Choose the Revolutionary zip.

actually, that would probably work great, but I can't find the Revolutionary ROM zip file on the SD card. For some reason its either just not showing up or I eff'ed up and deleted it.

anyway someone could post it on here? and i can remove the SD card and put it on there I guess.

Look in your Download folder. If it's not there, look in the first thread of this forum. It's a sticky with all ROMs for the INC2.

You know, I thought that very same thing, but I'm still fairly new to rooting myself, so I zipped my lips in case it was a ROM.

All custom ROMs block OTAs so that was a clue that a ROM had not been installed.

Unfortunately, this isn't true. It is always a good idea to hunt down and destroy (or just rename) the otacerts file if you flash a new ROM. They don't ALL have it removed. I can't say on which one, but I have had to go in to remove it before, and I have seen people who lost root because of it too.

Ok, so I did manage to flash Virtuous Unity, it's installed and working. I like it. When I connect to my PC, and select sync, it tries to locate the HTC sync on my computer, and although I have the HTC sync opened and running, it can't find it.

this is at least a step ahead of where I was last night. Anyone got any suggestions on how to get it to connect?

Also, there are several google apps that won't run, google search is one. My business email that I set up is another. The sync is the most important thing for me though, so again, thanks everybody for the help, but please give me some suggestions on this if you have 'em.
