i think everyone should try gingerbread...!

I upgraded my mini. It works great!
but do we still have the feature of customizing the msg theme?
Cause i am not able to find it anymore.
 
Ya their are no inbuilt themes for msg app as it was on froyo...but you can try chomp sms or pansi sms instead of stock from the market..they both have themes..

i came across another bug maybe.
my wifi turns on by itself. i haven't been able to make out what gets it enabled. this is a big problem. any help upon this?

I tried your guide but I had to stop (fortunately before doing anything to my phone!) because your download on 4shared is no longer available. I tried the similar download provided at hxxp://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-s5570.htm but it lacks the OPS file, so that doesn't work. May I ask you for a reupload?

The ODIN download is still valid, no reupload is needed there. Just what was previously at dc401.4 shared.com/download/lj31lBkP/S5570XXKPI_SERKPI_XXKPI_wwweus.rar?tsid=20110811-200406-c00605 . (URL deliberately mangled)

1.i have not rooted my mini yet(afraid that warranty will be void)...
on froyo the qudrant benchmark score was 531 but after flashing to gb its 967(...!)..antutu score is 1559.. don't know how much it was before in froyo..angry birds and other games much smoothly on gb..

2.actually i had around 31 apps installed when i was using froyo and out of 160mb of phone memory only 70mb was free and before flashing i backed all apps using astro file manager and reinstalled all of them after upgrading gb..to my surprise i still have 123mb free phone memory even after installing all of them(..:D)..this a single reason why you should upgrade to gb..

3.i know if you install cm7(or any custom roms) you can still increase the device performance,but its a bit easier to flash using odin(and safe)..

4.i know there are many people(like me) who don't want to root the phone and are afraid in trying custom roms but yet want to improve their phone's performance,so for them gb is a must..

Youre absolutely right.Tried ASIA 2.3.4 y'day have no issues at all.The device feels very snappy and Fast!

Both will work for galaxy pop/mini gts5570. I've tested them on my galaxy pop.

I didn't came accross the bug myself in my galaxy pop gts5570. Why don't you try to flash latest version of rom from sam-firmware hoping it will fix the problem. (Backup your data and apps before flashing)

Both work on mini and after flashing your bug might be solved...

It takes maximum 6-7 minutes to upgrade. I think you did it the wrong way. See this detailed tutorial for more help on flashing european version gingerbread 2.3.4 in galalxy pop/mini.
