My Gawd... $9.99 to rent a movie like "The cable guy?"

I'm all for movie rentals for a $1.99 or $2.99 for recent films.

Seriously? 10 bucks? You can watch cable guy over at crackle for nothing!

Edit: It would appear that those are 'Buying' prices. Still too much! lol

No worries. Users can't delete posts, only Mods.

I agree it's a high price. I prefer using Rhapsody for music and Netflix for movies as it's an "all you can eat" price. But, for that rare chance that I want to watch something on my tablet or phone, it's a nice option. :)

I never thought I would rent movies from google! lol I agree, it's a nice option. :)

I had netflix and basically over time I ran out of material I was interested in. I tried hulu plus, but I still can't watch lifetime movies.

With google play, when I do rent a movie, I try to stick with the $1.99 movies. :)
 
I think digital movies and such do get sort of a premium price point as they assume its easier to share / pirate, being pre made compact for easy viewing over the web. [not a full 8+gb copy of the movie DVD] but they fail to realize their DVD copy protection only works on normal people, and only normal people will pay to rent a movie online for more then local rentals.

Which in the end, they are still just shooting their own foot ;)

I know I am going to sound like a cheap ass here, but even $1.99 seems expensive to me for a movie rental that I can only watch on my phone or (if I had one) tablet. This seems even higher when I can walk to the Redbox and get a movie for $.99 that I can watch on my TV.

I see it as saving me a trip to the video store, and I enjoy watching movies on my phone. :)

I connect my tablet to my TV via HDMI and can watch movies or anything on my TV.

My phone has tvout to rca cables. This is great because I have an older tv, that doesn't support hdmi. I love it because I can connect to any tv old or new as long as it has rca jacks. Great for renting movies, or showing my friends a home video. Also great for gaming if you are into that sort of thing.
