I have an HTC Hero GSM. I've previously rooted this phone but I was forced to install the Orange (UK) 2.73.61.66 firmware and I'm slowly updating this because I'm trying to root again and nothing is letting me, either SuperOneClick nor Universal Androot nor FlashRec or Better Terminal Emulator. Maybe I'm doing something really wrong but I've tried everything, absolutely everything. I have downloaded everything too. I've been doing this for 3 days now and I've learned a lot from these very clever people here and elsewhere (even YouTube). I was just wondering....could someone please help me from scratch? I have a standard HTC Hero. I've rooted and installed custom f/w on a HTC Desire, jailbroken 2 iPhones, hacked Symbian on my N95 8gB but I am stuck with this Hero. Basically, I want to make it faster because my gf likes games and I like the phone and I know it can perform with the right tweaks. Please help.-
