I tried this battery off eBay

Newbie
I am a new android owner and am a frequent discount seeker. I saw a package deal for a tpu cover and extended battery. The seller ships from China and I figured that many imported goods are from China anyway.

Long story short, the battery isn't giving me more than about 8 hours battery life according to Battery Mix. The graph also shows very high consumption by Google Chrome. I do understand that maybe the battery is just a lemon, but even when I do replace it with a better quality battery, how do I manage Google Chrome? I went into settings and "cleared" & disabled it. Ironically, Battery Mix still says that it is responsible for 30% of battery consumption.

Any suggestions and your opinions of this battery?

UPDATE:
Battery Mix is now showing that the potential charge life for the battery is about 33-34 hours! I'm going to use my phone as I usually do. I do a good amount of web surfing and recently have used Youtube here and there. i mostly do a lot of texting and phone calls with my friends.
I'll let you know if it lasts in the range that Battery Mix claims it should. If it does, I would sincerely recommend this seller and battery because that is a very good deal for a TPU case and battery. The best deal I've ever seen in fact.

This is turning out to be a very pleasant surprise.

batteries take a couple of charges before they are are fully operational. but when buying from china on ebay you have to careful cause its very to easy to buy lemons. i mean the sell you 32gb sd cards when in reality they are just only 2gb sd cards

Lol I figured there is the chance that it could be a lemon. But i did realize something. The first couple days I was Using the , for charger for my OLD Samsung R225 and it was giving me that 8 hour max. As soon as I used the stock charger for the Motion, thats when the performance of the battery increased. The affect was noticeable in Just Minutes! I guess that was the problem the whole time. so far, i last charged 8 this morning and I'm now at 48% which is a major improvement over .yesterday. I think a few more charges with the right charger will bring this battery to its full potential and i might be able to squeeze a full 24 of regular use of my phone per charge.
Btw, I think some of these companies get their stuff from China anyway.

yes!! Please DO tell if it lasts :D
You have to forgive me for my novice standing. Based on what Battery Mix says and my own Observation, Web surfing is the biggest drain. With normal use and some websurfing, How long do You think an extended battery should last beyween charges? So far, if i use the web Excessively, I can get about 12 hours.

guess it really depends on the battery itself, its not like these extended batteries are manufacturer ed by the phone makers themselves. you kinda play russian roulette when using them cause you dont know if the seller ir reliable or if the battery will work as intended. there "gold" extended batteries that say they last much longer but they are completely fake lol

That makes perfect sense. For now, I guess i dont have much to complain about Because i do a lot of Surfing and even some downloading. I just use moderately, I will surely last over 12 hours, and i mean moderate downloading. Lol regular Surfing, Texting and calls gives me Close to 24 hours.

Have you tried the Cyanogen mod build by BobZHome?
After going back to stock from cm10 I must say, the battery life in cm10 is excellent. And I use a lot of data, mostly wifi and I get amazing life. I switched back to stock recently to test the battery and it's no where near the life of cm10.

I've never heard of that. Sounds like something I Should look
Into

Extended batteries tend to give me 3-6 extra hours, regardless of phone.

You said you're new to Android. One major problem with CM10 (CyanogenMod) is that data doesn't work right now. I would recommend reading through each guide, multiple times, before attempting anything.

And the most important advice anyone can give you: Always Make A Backup.

Start with the All Things Root section.

Data works in BobZHome's build, so far 4g is partially working and 3g is working
