I upgraded to 4.03 ICS and I have a huge issue.

At least 4 times a day, I would find my home screen completely blank. No widgets, no application button. The only thing I see is my notification bar which I can drag downwards on my S2. The same thing for my dad's S2.
The only way I can fix it is reboot the phone, but dad's getting frustrated.
I used Odin v1.85 to upgrade it, but how can I fix this issue?:confused:

Did you do a factory data reset after you installed 4.0.3 ?

Try another launcher e.g. Go Launcher

Also you can try clearing data for TW Launcher

Settings-->Applications---> All ----> TW Launcher

Clearing data may bring the default settings and your home screens will get back to default.

Hello Mirailecious!

Sorry to hear about the problems that both of you are experiencing.

You mention that you used Odin to flash the ICS firmware. I suppose that I have to ask the obvious question which is, are you sure that you used the correct firmware for your phone model and CSC code?

This thread explains some of the problms encountered in upgrading and how you can resolve them...

ICS problems... what you can do!

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum Mirailecious.

It could also be worth installing a 4.0.4 firmware. Some of the 4.0.3 firmware were a bit temperamental so flashing 4.0.4 should give you more stability and less bugs.

Hey Mirailecious, only advice I can offer is keep talking, keep explaining the problems as you see them and keep asking the questions and along with good explanations comes good advice back, don't panic and it is best to stick to 1 forum to get your answers from, wherever that may be :)

Well I think the software I used was compatible for my device and my Dad's. I don't know how to fix it, and I've tried clearing cache and factory resetting my phone twice now :/

Just a few questions if you don't mind...

1. If you type in on your dial pad the following:- *#1234# you will see 4 lines of information. Could you post them here.

2. If you go to... Settings > About phone > Model number... could you post that.

3. What is your, approximate, location, (i.e. UK, Germany, India, etc:)?

4. Was your originally phone running carrier branded firmware, (i.e. Vodafone, Telstra, Bell, etc:)?
