I wanna know what are your thoughts on the Apple keynote on Monday?

To be honest, I'm pretty disappointed in their keynotes. There wasn't any cool new features. Instead, Jobs listed those apps as new features, sad.

If I was hyped up for the new iPhone, I would have been deflated after today. Apple seems unwilling to make a truly revolutionary leap (shouldn't really be surprising when you see the jump each iPhone has made).

BTW, Noah from phonedog was using his Evo 4G as a mobile hotspot at the event. :D

come on guys.. some respect for Apple and Steve jobs would be nice.
No matter how much we love our droids.. lets not forget that apple was the one to REVOLUTIONIZE the smart phone industry!. Hats off to apple for that!

speaking of which.. Android computers anyone?

Huh? It didnt revolutionize anything. HTC was making smartphones in the late 90s and touch screens in the early 2ks. All the iphone did was take existing technology, improve it a bit and then package and market it in a brilliant way. Thats what Apple does best

it wouldnt matter if Apple didnt talk about their tech like it was revolutionary.

but they do and they price it like its revolutionary.

and it just isnt, not anymore, and probably never will be.

i believe in 4.0 the feature is already confirmed that people will be able to change their homescreen background.. anyway. I agree with what other people said, i am an iphone owner myself, but if all the new iphone has is the same stuff from the various leaks going on, apple is gonna be in some trouble.

Change their homescreen backgrounds... seriously? Well, I guess when you are a control freak, you can really go overboard.

I own apple. I own windows. I own google. I am interested in anything these companies do. I dont buy everything they make, but I still am interested in new products. If anything a new iPhone is a good thing. It forces android manufacturer to keep doing new and better things. Competition is good for everyone.

Except Apple... They don't seem to do too well when they have real competition.

I do have a need for a Phone that has Cisco IPSEC group authentication VPN, WPA2-Enterprise WIFI. Both of which are unavailable on Android as of today. So I am definitely interested in what comes out today.

Looking for the same thing. I've heard that Juniper is working on a VPN client for Android... we shall see.

Mr. Jobs seems to be hoping that the whole world will forget that video calling has been around since 3G phones were introduced originally with front-facing cameras. My old Nokia N70 could do it and I didn't even need to find a wireless hotspot.

As for a gyroscope for SIXAXIS (look familiar in uppercase?), if Sony can't really do anything impressive with the concept, what can Apple drag up?

All-in-all I'm underwhelmed with the iPhone4 which I'm glad about cos I would have been right P'd off if it was decent enough for me to want one having only just got my Desire.

Still, the Apple hardcores will be taken in by all the baubles and tassels and still queue up on launch day to upgrade early and extend their contracts by 2 years.......

I actually heard someone refer to the iPhone UI as "intuitive" today. It's certainly simple......maybe that's what he meant.

Agreed. The iPad is the fastest device I layed my hands on; including the Incredible & EVO.

If the iPhone comes out with true 720p/30fps video reco

Well I would never get an iPhone regardless because out here in SoCal, AT&T is complete garbage. Most of my friends are stuck texting because of all the dropped calls. When they do use voice, they sound awful and I have to always ask them to repeat themselves. Not to mention the lack of customization on an iPhone, poor RAM and no way to change the battery. The magic mouse is awesome, I am using one now. Not sure I would like one on the back of my phone though.

Ugh I can't stand the magic mouse. Way uncomfortable. I'll stick with my 10 button mouse that is comfortable to use for hours.

The screen resolution on iP4 I nice, but should have a 4" screen I think 4" is the sweet spot for phones in general.

Vid chat only on wifi? Wtf? They blew that one... seriously.

I don't like the whole thing being made out of glass either. Just screams "broken"

The gyroscope is cool, id like to see what devs do with it.

The half-assed multi-tasking isn't any good either. If they implemented it correctly, then it would have made tthe iPad waaay more useful. Actually, if they did that and allowed outside of app store installs, id buy it. But add a cam/microphone too. The iPad could have been massive killer if they did this. Vid chat on an iPad would be very cool in my book. Guess that will be on the next gen, and maybe the notion ink will finally be out with tegra 2 goodness.

The limited ram is also mindboggling. Why are they cheaping out on people? And no storage upgrade? Come on....
