i want htc with super amoled screen

has there been any talks of such a phone?

with the new gingerbread and darker themes... there is a huge battery savings for super amoled screens.

with amoled getting better resulotions and losing the pentile crap.

and samsung now making bigger amoled screens. and more product...

but I hate samsung phones and touchwiz.

so... my dream phone would be:
on sprint
htc
sense
daul cpu or better
huge internal memory
4.3" super amoled or bigger (without making the phone bigger)

anyone here of such a phone coming out by end of year? I would skip the evo 3d for that.

Well, I know HTC originally shipped their incredible with Super-amoled screens but nixed that because of production costs. My gf has a DInc (LCD) and another friend has a DInc (samoled). They both generally use their phones for texting and talking with very light web browsing, so their usage is about the same. Both are on cyanogen 7 and both get roughly the same battery life.

Certainly my comparison isn't definitive by any means, but do you have estimates as to exactly how much more efficient the samoled is in real world conditions?

with black theme.... i would think a lot...

we all know the biggest power hog is the huge screen...

4.3 inch screens
lcd vs amoled

Still, I would rather compare a samoled phone with a black theme to an lcd phone with a black theme.

If you like, I can see if the girls would be willing to play a "dark" movie (I am thinking the dark knight perhaps) on both of their phones, let them run, and see how things go.

I just don't see a lot of people announcing that their samoled display phone is leaps and bounds ahead of any other phone in terms of power savings.

LOL....

movies.. black some times is not full back.. but i guess that is a good idea.
you should do it.

i would love to see the outcome!!!

No - Samsung claimed that demand exceeded supply and started keeping all S/AMOLED tech to themselves.

They claimed last year to be building a new fab to produce the mobile displays and that they'd then release the supply to other device makers.

AMOLED Shortage Might Last For Years

Don't hold your breath.

My vibrant was leaps and bounds behind every(android) phone I have had in terms of dying the fastest

If you want a SAMOLED Plus screen you have to buy a Samsung phone, they can barely supply enough for their own phones so the chance of anyone else getting them is slim to none.

Maybe stop the hating and learn to like TouchWiz, or use a launcher.

thanks... shocky.... i never thought of that. so simple.

it is something I want.. and wish. did not say you had to!

samsung has said last year that they built a new plant so they can sell to others too.
and it is my choice to hate touchwiz... yours can be what ever you like.
earlymon has said it might be years before others will get it... but it dont change my wish and hope.

thanks!

Enjoy the wait. :D

That won't be fair because in dark scenes, the LCD has to use more power to block the back light from coming thru, whereas the s-amoled has local dimming and simply does not turn those pixels on, thus the true black and power saving claims.

The more fair comparison might be bright theme on LCD and dark theme on s-amoled.
