I want my emails MANUALLY downloaded

I might not have stated it correctly, so I'll try to explain what I really want to do. I only want me emails to download when I manually check for them, NOT periodically as the phone does now. Not sure how to do this.

Not sure if it's in the same location on your device, but I believe this may work:

menu/settings/accounts/google/ youremailaddress@gmail.com/ uncheck the the gmail box setting?

Edit: hah, sorry..I assumed gmail emails. Do you wish the same for other email accounts?

I threw out the on phone email app.

installed this one, it is configurable for your way of thinking.

You should be able to open up your mail accounts and then click on the account you want to edit. Somewhere in the list of settings will be a means to set the account to check for mail only when you open your mail account. I'm not familiar with the exact menu settings in your S6 but I'm sure it the option you desire will be evident once you edit your mail account. Good luck

Yes you should be able to adjust the push settings to simply be manual sync.
