Root I was rooted then did official ginger bread update, now how can I root again?

So know i have all the bloat ware back and phone still crashes way too much. I want to unlock it as well to get off att and hopefully go to metro pcs if at all possible. So would i want to unlock or root first? Thanks

Also battery life seems worse now after the update, not better like they claimed, bs!

Also the wifi keeps turning its self off, sleep policy set to never and im right next to router, that is complete bs probably att's doing so it uses data grrrrrrr.
