Root I5500 boot loop Recovery.

My GT-I5500 Samsung Galaxy Europa I bought in the UK won't boot up. I upgraded to android 2.2 in the summer and everything was fine until yesterday when it wouldn't boot up. When I turn it on it shows a pulsating Samsung logo and vibrates a few times. I tried putting it in recovery mode when it says "downloading" and shows a yellow triangle but it still won't connect to Kies. I tried to recover with Kies but it asks me for a code from the previous PC, which happens to be in England. Luckily most of my files are either backed up to Google or on the 16 gig SD card. My question is can I get this phone usable again? Do I really need the recovery code or can I start over with a new install of Android 2.2?
 
On another thought/question. If I was to ask someone to try to get the code from the computer I originally did the upgrade to Froyo 2.2 with using Kies in England would they be able to get it without my Samsung I5500 attached? How would they get the code?

I have the yellow downloading caution sign on the phones screen. I connect it to the PC with the USB cable. Kies shows it is trying to connect with the spinning icon. and then it tells me "the device is not responding". If I try the emergency recovery from the tools menu nothing happens and the phone is not in the list. I tried the troubleshooting the connection error and it always downloads the driver. I reconnect the phone and it still can't find it. Windows does recognize that a USB device is connected when I plug it in. If I goto the "emergency firmware recovery" there is an option to "enter the recovery code from the previous PC". I realize the problem is getting the phone to connect in Kies first. What should I do next? Is there another program other than Kies that will connect to the phone to re install the OS?

Have you tryed to uninstall kies from Samsungs Web page, restart your pc, install Kies again, sometimes 1-3 times ;.(

Have you tried taking the battery out for 1-3 mins
Have you ever flashed, rooted etc your phone if not then don't. Call Samsung or your network provider, if they cannot help try to get your phone repaired by them
 
I have taken the battery out and left it out for minutes and hours as I trouble shoot the phone. Once it is stuck in the boot loop the only way to turn it off is to remove the battery. I tried the Vol. up and power button to turn it off but it just reboots it. I called Samsung and they said to send it in but I realize now that the phone is more than a year old therefore warranty has expired. Sending it in for repair is probably cost prohibitive. My next step was to try using Odin to flash the rom. I am trying to find out the correct Froyo 2.2 file as I have just learnt that there are at least three for a UK phone. Odin does seem to recognize the phone in download mode. Any ideas as to how I can find out the correct Android 2.2 firmware version I need? Or can I use any of the UK versions? I did upgrade the phone once before but I did it the way they told me to at Vodafone which is to upgrade to the latest version of Kies and then when you connect the phone you have the option to upgrade the OS. It worked with out a hitch and the phone worked well until this problem occurred.

What is the problem with flashing the ROM to re install Android 2.2??

I flashed the ROM with Odin three times with two different .tar firmware files and the "ops" file and there is no change except that one of the firmware files gave me a different name for the phone at the beginning of the boot up to "GT-I5500L" instead of "GT-I5500". This is good because it tells me that I did indeed re install the firmware. However the phone always does the same thing and won't boot to the home screen. At this point I suspect that it has a hardware failure and during boot-up the OS is finding a bad component and thus giving the three short vibrations as a error code the same way a PC would with a beep code if it doesn't pass post. I have run out of ideas except to try to re-flash it with an older android 2.1 or to send it to Samsung for service in Birmingham.
Any other ideas would be appreciated or comments.

Thanks On Droid1234 for the information. I flashed it with the file you told me about i5500XXJED and the phone is working now. I tried to upgrade it with Kies but it gave me a message that my phone can't be upgraded. I looked for the version of android 2.2 for my phone - pcode: GT-I5500KAVOP but can't find it.
 
The network I am on in the UK is Vodafone where I bought the phone as "pay as you go". I also live in the USA and unlocked it so I could use T-mobile. I haven't bothered with T-mobile in the USA when I returned here after being away because the PAYG service is minimal for the cost compared to the UK. In the USA I will use the phone for music, skype, email and web browsing etc. with WiFi. But when I go back to the UK I use it as my mobile phone and depend on the satnav program Ndrive.
 
I doubt that you will be able to flash the firmware for your p code as it is probably a vodafone p code so just flash any firmware for the i5500 and only the i5500.
 
I have the phone 90% back to working properly. I Flashed the ROM with two versions of Android Froyo 2.2 for European GT-I5500 models. First XWJPQ then XWJPL. The XWJPQ wasn't stock and was missing stuff and had some weird added apps. So I tried XWJPL as I read someone else had good luck with it. Some of the differences are that the home button goes to the third screen not the first screen on the left. if I am using skype I can't make the screen black to prevent my ear from ending the call. This may be due to a newer release of the skype app since I had to re-install it. Now I have to find the other 20 or so apps that I had installed and re-install them. Most of them were on the SD card but I don't think I do any think with the apps just the photos, video and music files. I am now wondering if I can save a regular backup image of the phone in case this happens again. Hopefully it won't.
 
My GT-I5500 seemed alright for a day after flashed the ROM with Froyo 2.2 flavor WXJPL. As of this morning is has started to run really slow and crashes often. Something is seriously wrong with it to the point where it has become useless. When I click the power button when it is running to wake it up it flashed the unlock screen for half a second then it goes black before I can unlock it. If I reboot it it works slowly and takes several seconds to do each command. I guess the questions I have are what happened? Is the version of Froyo that I used bad? Is the hardware of the phone bad? To me it seems like it could have a faulty internal ram problem that corrupted the OS. Is there any tool to check the hardware of the GT-I5500? I would really like to find out if it is worth spending any more time reloading the OS and software, or if I am barking up the wrong tree. Any suggestions?
 
Try using the I5500XWJQ3 firmware which used to be my old stock firmware, this firmware is for the UK. You might want to get the baseband I5500XWJP4 (I believe) as it is the latest one (as far as I know) for the UK. The phone not giving you the chance to unlock it is because it is going slow.

You should try rooting your phone as it will allow you to back up all your apps and data.
 
I re-installed with the I5500XWJQ3 firmware. The phone works better but the speed is still very slow. If I play the chess game I have installed I have to wait for the computer to make its move and I can see the chess pieces move in slow motion on the screen where as before they would instantly move. I find it curious that the re-install didn't delete all my programs personal info. off the phone. Perhaps it didn't swap all the parts of the OS, hence the problems are still there. I used an all in one Tar file. I was thinking of rooting the phone to see if I can check the clock speed and change it if it is below what it should be. On the other hand I have read that it voids the warranty. I may send it back to Samsung in the UK to have it fixed by them. I don't have the receipt with me so I don't know how to prove it was purchased less than two years ago.
 
Do not forget that if you root your phone you can always unroot it, I reccomend using Superoneclick to root your phone. You can find videos on how to use it through Youtube.
 
i have a samsung I5503 and it has been bootlooping. i tried odin 4.28 and use stock rom but after it send a signal to reboot the phone it is bootlooping. please help.

this same exact thing happened to me but my galaxy came with android 2.2 and i updated it to 7 and the phone would not boot up. the only thing you can do is flash your phone and it would work. i'm still searching for a flashing software.
