Help i5500: just installed official 2.2. What else can I do to improve it?

Hi to everybody.

I bought a i5500 few months ago.
I had problems (slow responsiveness, multimedia scanner too heavy, and other things which were giving me the impression of something not working properly).
I downloaded Kies and it installed firmware jp3 and Android 2.2.
Now I would like to ask few questions:

1) which is the higher version of Android possible for my device and which advantages can give to me respect to the 2.2?
2) the mediascanner problem (scanning all the time and freezing everything) is something without solution? BTW, is this mediascanner useful to something? I would like to just deactivate it somehow... But it seems that I cannot do it without rooting the phone and it still is under warranty... :(
3) Antivirus? I use AVG but I have read a post here of someone with the mediascanner problem who solved it taking away AVG. I did not solve it like that but I still wonder if I can get something better than AVG
4) I installed two additional keyboards, Swiftkey and Go, because I write in different languages to my friends and I had to go every time to options to change the language, very annoying. Well, when I try to choose these keyboards, the phone tells me that they could be keyloogers. Feedbacks?
5) I used the *2767*4387264636# code to know my model (which is YKAITV). In the message there also is "sellout sms off" and "mode: test"... What do these mean?
6) what applications are a MUST to make my phone works better? Both rooting and not rooting it (I will not root now just in case I need the warranty, but I will do it later if needed).

Thanks a lot!

1. Far as I know Froyo 2.2 is the highest at the moment unless you want to root your phone but seeing as you don't wanna do that yet then 2.2 is the highest available.
2. I'm not sure what the mediascanner problem your talking about is but I use Astro file manager and when I delete something I get a message saying ''scanning media'' and such, I started with a 1 GB SD card and I now have an 8 GB Card and it does take longer to scan but I only have about 2 GB worth of apps/music/photos on the Card, maybe this is your problem and there's no way of making it quicker? Again, Rooting seems to open up lots of doors and there could be some way of fixing it but I don't know
3. I don't use one, didn't think I needed to on a phone but I saw it on the Market but didn't go near it.
4. Can't help with this one
5. It's more than likely nothing and would only mean something to a developer/true techie who's spent a lot of time around these phones! It's probably of some use to repair people when fixing the phones.
6. That one is down to personal preference but Apps like Astro for file management, Tapatalk for forums if your on more than one, Facebook and Gmail are good ones to have also. My WiFi is down for a few days so I've only just scratched the surface!
I hope I've helped somewhat!
