I just bought a used i897 phone (firmware 2.2 if that means anything) for my son to use ONLY for apps and media playing via our home wifi. The lady said she did a factory reset but dang, there sure is a lot of stuff on there that we don't need and can't uninstall! Rooting it scares me to be honest (no clue what I'm doing lol).
We've added the following apps:
Guns 2.84 MB
AngriGran 1.92 MB
4 Pics 1 Word 164 KB
Minecraft 1.52 MB
And it also has Google Play Store 80 KB and Google Play services 676 KB listed with the Third-party apps. That's it!
Storage info:
No external SD card
Internal SD card : total 13.03 GB and available 13.02 GB
Internal Phone Storage: available 1.54 GB
Questions:
1) Most apps he wants, he can't get due to lack of space. If we insert an SD card, will it still download apps and store them on the card?
2) What is the difference between Internal SD card and Internal phone storage? Looks like there's plenty of space on the Internal SD card - can apps be stored there?
3) Is there ANY way to get rid of the crap without rooting it? The answer is "no" from what I've read online but just looking for confirmation.
