Help i9000 3.5mm -> TV-Out

Dunno about that cable. My understanding is the pins on the 3.5mm jack aren't standardised.

I have a Nokia cable I bought off Ebay which works fine.

Why bother with Nokia cables only? I bought a cheap cable for less than 2 euro advertised as a camcorder compatible and it works fine ;)

Well why bother, indeed. I don't care who makes the cable, but want to know which one to buy! I exclude the expensive ones because cables are simply cables. Cheap to make.

Please tell me which cable you bought (name model etc.,) so that I may buy one. People seem to think that cable in the URL I posted would not work.

If I were U, I would've bought this cable right away :) It seems a high quality product. Or I would go to the nearest tech store and buy whatever 3.5mm <-> 3 RCA my eyes see - preferably not very expensive. The one in your link looks excellent!

Oh, and one other thing - all audio/video cables are standardized, so no worry if a cable will work, as long as it is not a 5 cent china crap (you can tell if it is, because they smell bad and are ugly with cheep looking jacks :) ).

Pin outs are here

There is an inconclusive thread here:

...But the Nokia thread does explain why:

If you are disinclined to click the link then I have put it here:
The N900 using a camcorder style A/V cable (3.5mm to RCA white/red/yellow) will not work, because the N900 uses a different pin of the 3.5mm jack for "ground" than is used by almost every other manufacturer.

I have three different 3.5mm cables and none of them work! I can get sound but only distorted picture.

3.5mm cables are definitely NOT standard!

I first bought a standard 3.5mm to 3xRCA in a local electronic shop.
It didn't work (sound only, no picture).
I then bought a Nokia CA-75U on ebay. Works. But I have to play a bit with the plug or I get disturbing sounds.
