I9000 update

Hello, i have Galaxy s i9000 with 2.2.1 rooted with superoneclick.
How do i update my galaxy to 2.3 ? Please can somebody post full instructions and is it safe?

ps.Can i still update with root? Or should i remove it?

I just found this website http://www.androidauthority.com/how...-i9000-android-2-3-5-gingerbread-xfjva-39017/ there is a link and instructions for it. If somebody could view it and say they are safe that would also be helpful. Im downloading the file now. Its 168mb large, should it be?
