I9100P root fail

Hi all,

am a complete noob to all of this but simply had to do something about the terrible battery life on my phone (XXLPH) and so have attempted to root it. Used "correct" root version SGS2_XX_OXA_LPH-v5.2-CWM5.tar. Whole process goes ok but them get the yellow triangle. Have tried reflashing but can`t get past this stage. Also went into recovery mode and formatted/wiped cache as recommended by someone else. Is there anyway to recover the phone? Any advice would be really really appreciated

many thanks

Hello and welcome to Android Forums omnetician! :)

I am rapidly going off the LPH kernel! As you will notice from the CF-Root list of kernels, here, the LPH as well as the LPB, LPJ and LPQ, CF-Root kernels, all have a, "*** = problems mounting secure storage", which can cause problems for some people when rooting.

Therefore, using the, "Rooting Galaxy S2 - Dummies Guide", instructions in posts #1 and #2, suggest that you substitute this kernel for Orange firmware instead of the CF-Root kernel you have tried.

Many thanks ironass for your assistance - out of desperation I downloaded and managed to get the phone working again on CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-v5.3-CWM5. Already I can see that the battery life has gone up from 7 hours to +24 hours..... I will flash again later today using the version recommended by you. I was getting occasional google.process.com is not responding errors - will this be related to the issues with the current version I`m on?

Now that you are rooted I would recommend flashing either the one I have linked to previously or Dorimanx or Siyah sustom kernels.

Thanks again for the info - I`m assuming that if I go for the Dorimanx kernel I should be using the latest n greatest - Kernel_Dorimanx-V7.22-ICS-JB-18-08--20-11-12-SG2-PWR-CORE? Still waiting for my usb-jig to arrive before I do anything as my pessimistic side always assumes the worse.....
