Help I9300XXLF2 Update - battery drain

Chala

Lurker
I read somewhere that this surprisingly quick update (I got it few days ago) was specifically targeted to solve the problem of battery drain by radio. Unfortunately, after this update the situation is the same (or maybe worse) - the phone stand by is constantly listed as using more that 50% of total battery usage and is definitely spoiling the power availability of the phone.
Is there any solution to this problem?
I shall be glad to hear from those that know much more about this than myself.

I had the issue then I flashed omega rom xxalef2 and the issue went away so the update should definitely be the fix

I take this back. It appeared to have gone but its definitely back.

SUroot, which baseband version do you have? I flashed Omega v5.1 and have discovered that I still have the NELE4 which comes with stock 3-branded firmware. It is supposed to be the new modem that improves battery in the OTA updates, so I am thinking of flashing a newer version of the modem, from here.

In ::indie::'s screenshots on the Omega XDA thread, he's running XXLEF, while the most recent release is the XXLF2 which is in fact the subject of this thread.
