Help iBolt dock no longer working

Jose15247

Newbie
Hey guys,

I own an iBolt dock for my S3 that I absolutely love. Unfortunately as of late, it refuses to work as of late. It worked great for about three months, and just recently started to fail. I'm not sure if it is the dock or phone that are the ones causing the problem, but it refuses to go into dock mode when I connect it, and no longer plays my music through my car stereo. Anyone have any ideas on what might be the issue? I doubt I messed with the settings, but maybe you guys can set me in the right direction.

Thanks in advanced!

Have you checked the settings under "settings-accessory"
Make sure audio output mode is checked, to route sound through external USB or aux port

Does the screen autorotate, and does s voice come up when you first plug into he dock?

Dock sounds, audio output mode and desk home screen display are all checked. It does not auto rotate or bring up s voice, it used to do both when it functioned properly, but now all the dock seems to do is charge the phone.

Have you recently updated to Jelly bean? This stops the docks working. No fix as far as I know

It's a well known and documented issue. The issue is with docking mode on your phone due to a firmware update.

Check the ibolt.co website, they have an announcement.

I read about that issue now that the problem came up, but what I don't get is that I've been updated to jelly bean since late December/early January and it's worked perfectly fine. The problem just started occurring about a week ago.

Edit: I reread the issue on the website and it says that it does work with the Sprint GS3, which is what I have.

It doesn't state if it's meant to be working on JB 4.1.1 / 4.1.2 or either. If you happen to be on 4.1.1 then maybe an update might fix it for you. (just sayin)

What version of the phone do you have?
The ibolt problem with jellybean only affects the International version. All us and Canadian versions work fine using ibolt with jellybean, mine included.

Edit: never mind sorry, just read your post edit...
