Help Ice-cream Sandwich Update?

My Samsung Galaxy Note is jail-broken (ie. i have access to the black-market). My phone already got the update for Ice-cream Sandwich and I was wondering if it is safe to update without loosing the jailbreak (or whatever it is called, sorry i'm a noob). Any helpful advice will really be appreciated!

I take it you have come over from the land of iPhone?
With regards to updating and loosing the rooted status of your phone..... I'm sure someone will answer that for you shortly
