Ice Cream...

Has there been any confirmation that the Sprint Galaxy SII is going to get the ice cream update? I've been looking on the web and can't seem to find anything.

I'm sure they will, but from all I have ever heard is Samsung is notoriously slow in getting updates out...but considering the Prime, will be the first with it. Things may change for us :)

ICS hasn't been released yet. There's no way that Samsung or any other manufacturer is going to make any statement about an OS upgrade to an existing product before its official release. You're probably right to assume there will be an upgrade, but dead wrong to count on it. I hope the e4gt gets ICS, but right now I'm waiting eagerly to see the data connection issue fix before committing to upgrade to one.

Just remember how long it took the U.S. models of the first galaxy phones. Samsung is all about money and not customers. Look at the Droid Charge and Infuse. Still waiting on 2.3. Don't expect ice cream on any U.S. version of the GSII until about 4-6 months after Europe. You might thing I'm BS'ing but that's how they are.

Yea I think Samsung could care less about us Americans... The International people get first dibs on the phone months before us and the same for their updates.

Thank God for rooting :D I could care less if Samsung updates my phone as long as I'm rooted and there's a custom ROM for it. Also there's always the unofficial leaked update months before the real update and they are usually stable (At least from what I experienced with leaked FroYo on my OG Epic).
