icons go missing

[Android Question]

I have an LG optimus F3 4G LTE; just got it, its my first smart phone. Why do the icons at the bottom disappear, most notably the phone one and the contacts one?! The manual shows 5 but mine take turns disappearing and only 4 are on at any given time. The only way to get the phone back on is to shut it off, turn it back on, and then the contacts one is mssing! help, please

Hello and welcome to Android Forums. Hopefully I can help you with your problem.

It could be a number of things. All of them lead back to corruption somewhere. Honestly, instead of spending hours troubleshooting (which I've done), I would just do a factory reset and install everything from scratch. If you are rooted you can use an app like Titanium Backup to backup and restore your apps. JUST MAKE SURE YOU RESTORE THE APPS ONLY AND NOT ANY DATA.

I've had that happen and that's how I fixed it.
