Help ICS Audio Issues

Concat

Newbie
Ok I updated last night and the first thing I noticed is all my music is gone. No problem, I'll just wait until it scans my SD card right? Well that hasn't happened yet. Still no music. If I go into "My Music" it just freezes. So I go to "Play Music" and it says it's scanning for music... but it will say this for hours without finding anything.

Next issue is that my alarm won't go off. Was late for work this morning.

Final issue is that I can't change my ringtone. If I go to settings> sound> Phone Ringtone, it freezes.

I've tried hard resets. I've gone into "My Files" and manually opened .mp3 files. It does nothing. It just sits there and stares at me with contempt.

Seriously, why is everything audio related on my phone messed up??? I wish I never updated. I;ve always had issues with the dumbass stock Music app, but never like this.

Please help! Thanks!

NVM, I figured it out.

Apparently you have to clear the data in the Media Storage App. (settings > storage > apps > Media Storage)

What a pain.

It seems there are many issues connected with the ICS update.
Unfortunately the cure for most of them is a factory reset. It is a pain in the a$$, but in the long run it is worth the effort.
