I had read a post on this site iirc saying how a vzw rep told someone how the ICS update was in question about being released. I would like to share a email from vzw.

Hello Andrew,

My name is Linda and I understand why you'd be anxious for the new Ice Cream Sandwich update to your phone. With the improved browser and the new user interface, just to name a few updates, I am just as anxious! I wish I could give you an exact date as to when you can expect the update but unfortunately, that information has not been disclosed. I have however, verified that your devices is one of the few that is expected to be upgraded and rest assured that once the update becomes available, you will receive notification on your phone, prompting you to update.

Thank you for being the best part of Verizon Wireless, Andrew. We know that being a Verizon Wireless customer is a choice and we appreciate your continued loyalty. Have a wonderful day.

Sincerely,

Linda Verizon Wireless Customer Service

thats nice, but very vague. Wish she would have said something about it coming soon.

Yes thank-you Captain Obvious VSW Spokesperson. I think you need to put another quarter in your crystal ball and clear that one up a bit.

That was kinda funny.

TRANSLATION: I'm thinking of a number between 0 and 99. It might be somewhere at the beginning or maaaaayyybbbeee towards the middle....however believe me when I tell you, it will be worth the wait when it shows up closer to the end because you can be rest assured that our techs here at Verizon are putting every resource available to make sure this happens as soon as humanly possible.

Now granted, I love my Spectrum and holy cow, I love my Verizon service but geez....

Well, we all knew that from the VZ spec PDFs, but the vague response isn't surprising. I suppose it's good that they're confirming, though I agree a Quarter/Month would be nice.

Read other posts/threads.. That's a leaked ics release that's a pain to install and is buggy as all Hell.

I'm guessing Verizon will release the ICS update a few weeks after their change-over that takes unlimited data away from people. That way if LG messed up and people want to change phones, they lose unlimited data.

I'm just being cynical for fun. Really, I think ICS will end up allowing the Spectrum to truly blossom.
