I agree, I rooted my metro pcs Lg optimus M before i loved it, only issue i had with rooting was the constant hit or miss on MMS receiving, I don't think i'm gonna take any chances on this phone tho, maybe on the next Cyangen mod that comes out now that the official ics source & kernel has been released, i know we'll see some huge progress.....
I noticed that my google play was running a crazy background data, so i shut that down hoping it helps.
My phone was getting super hot just by browsing on facebook using wifi when i was updated to ics even after performing a factory reset... I was like wth? The only time i felt my phone get hot at all on gingerbread was when i played final fantasy iii

Although I like it as a tool, I'm not the type to keep track of how many thanks or likes I get. My Facebook account lasted for all of a day after I saw how that place worked. Not my style. All the thanks I need is the ever-abiding knowledge that I'm always right...always...

Ok so i want to let everyone now that i called sprint today and they have confirmed with me that they are pulling the ics update due to the numerous complaints about the buggy device, and there starting on an update for the bug fixes which hopefully should roll out soon. The lady was so nice to me she gave me a $35.00 credit on my accout

actually, i also posted this issue on another thread and someone else gave me the same response. it does work. i even went to my ATT store and the rep was not able to help. thanks for your response

Did you mean to say " it does not work"? You are posting in the Samsung Epic 4G Touch forum. That phone is with Sprint not ATT. What phone are you trying to take a screen shot on?

Ok so i want to let everyone now that i called sprint today and they have confirmed with me that they are pulling the ics update due to the numerous complaints about the buggy device, and there starting on an update for the bug fixes which hopefully should roll out soon. That's cool!.. They gave me a free battery after the fact that I got an extended one.. I heard a rumor that Samsung wants to keep customers happy and might work on a Jelly bean upgrade, particularly for our SG2 Sprint phones...
I could not find a link to what I read yesterday about it...

That's cool if they do roll out an update to fix some issues. I jsut hope it doesn't break it for those of us that don't have issues. BTW, I also did the manual update for my friend on his BRAND NEW E4GT, and it worked flawlessly. He has had no complaints and has been loving ICS. I just did this for him the other day. The one thing I noticed, is that everyone has been told to re-name the .zip to update.zip. I did not do this since my phone wouldn't take the update when I did. Since it worked well for me, I didn't rename it for my friend either. I wonder if the re-naming has something to do with the issues people are experienceing? Just a thought.
Their sending me a replacement phone with the same ics crap already loaded onto it... as if it's gonna help lol, my phone is brand new just purchased june 2nd. i'm not trading my brand new phone for a another old device with a buggy application, i'm gonna keep the battery and maybe the charger that comes with it tho xD, oh and about that update, you may have read it here
Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.1 update could be coming as soon as next month (Galaxy S2, as well)Also i would like everyone to know that i actually called Samsung last night, And they do repairs for the Epic 4g touch its covered under the warranty, If you guys want, you can send them your phone, and they will fix any glitch that happened with the ics update you received, Because it comes from Samsung themselves, And also they are working on a patch for our buggy update , now the only problem with this... Is the 11 buisness days it'll take altogether to get the phone back :[

I did the manual update and did the hard reset. Battery life is worse than my HTC EVO. Phone gets hot. IMO on somethings they went backwards. I am having issues with stuff I never had issues with before.
Another thing - and I do not know if it just me - but since the update to ICS my phone seems to take longer to charge.
Hopefully there will be a patch released soon.

I'M super Pissed Off!. First off, I was getting the INFO- Charging Paused, Voltage too High crap. You press OK and then it comes back 30 seconds later. (Saturday)
Then the phone was doing the same thing as Saturday some of the morning, and did the same thing on Monday. Tuesday I had the phone charged and it did the same thing only in the morning, then was fine the rest of the day. No problems at all!
Today (Wed) the phone was fine all morning until the battery got to 97% and then the damn thing would think plugged in un plugged...plugged in un plugged...plugged in un plugged...plugged in un plugged... over and over. Then it went to the dumb message I got over the weekend.
After draining to 93% the phone seems normal again as I type this message out.
Things I noted were that the USB Port was cleaned of debris, and it is not loose. The phone can be sitting completely still and do this crap. It has nothing to do with a bad port since there is no movement jolting the port around.
Some have said it's a bad port from what I read, while others say its the stupid melted ice cream cone update.
The only thing I can say is this Ice Cream Update has turned to Sour Cream!

I haven't seen any mention of my current issue with the update. I've had the update for less then a week and the phone randomly reboots, seems like only when I'm streaming music via Bluetooth to my car stereo. Its happened several times now. Called Sprint and they told me to do a reset. I did, and its STILL rebooting randomly..

What's interesting is I tried pulling the battery like I saw some suggest, and my battery level went UP immediately after doing it! It has been very quickly going from fully charged to dropping to under 20% without doing anything (before even my first break at work in the morning so I wasn't messing around with anything). I was at 13% when I tried this trick, when it booted back up it was at 20%. The amount of battery consumption being used by the OS also went down from 50-something% down to 27. Something is definitely funky here.
I have not yet tried a factory reset as, at the moment, I have no backup capability.
Stock phone, last OS 2.3.6, no extra UI or shell or Launcher or anything. Purchased 11/2011.
After applying the update the night it was made available to me, Thursday Aug 2nd, I charged it and left it overnight.
Using the Samsung stock Sense UI (that is Sense, right?)
The next day (after needing to recreate all my app folders and reorganize my pages, change a lot of settings, and get used to Swype's keyboard since the old Samsung-provided swipe-style board no longer is available and the new one doesn't swipe) I noticed that, by the end of the day, my phone was running much lower in battery than I would have hoped - down to 34% after a day of just texting with my fiancee. Maybe 2-3 an hour.
Saturday we went to the beach/shore/ocean. My phone sat in her purse in our beach bag, out of direct sunlight. It went from a full charge, to below 75% after a 90 minute drive, to 18% 6 hours later. Just from sitting.
This morning on my 18 minute drive to work, the phone went from full charge (I unplugged it not 30 seconds before I left the house) to 88%.
I tried popping the battery as had been suggested. I let it get back to a full charge. 30 minutes later, 84%.
So the battery thing didn't work.
One other thing I've noticed is that the GPS locator seems to be activating at all sorts of random times, though most of the time after I hit the Apps button.
There's no other apps open.
I've disabled the locator service for both my weather app and Moon Phase Pro.
Yahoo Messenger isn't signed in (and doesn't have a locator setting).
I've now disabled Wifi and GPS, and will see how it runs over the next hour.'
I'm used to being able to go all day without going less than 85% battery when just texting. If I'm reading e-books or playing minor games (Angry Birds, shh) it never goes less than 50% unless I'm doing it all day long. well, never previously went below 50%...
Thus far, I'm pretty underwhelmed with the update, and rather annoyed that I accidentally applied it.
