ICS for DROID Charge

Lets just hope it doesn't take as long as it did to get Gingerbread :rolleyes:

I held off on rooting to wait for the official Gingerbread, but once I hear about a stable ICS without any significant compromises, I'll probably take the plunge - I can't even imagine how long it's going to take to get an "official" ICS for the Charge if it comes at all.

There are still devs for the Charge? Team Gummy is pretty much gone with no releases in 2 months. Danalo1979 has been busy playing with his new Nexus. IMoseyON had to turn his phone back in to his employer, so there's likely no more kernels for the foreseeable future. Imnuts is pretty much the only dev remaining, and he has stated that he'll only commit to a few more months of updates (kernel and InfinityROM).
 
That is a bummer, this phone got lots better with Gingerbread -- ICS would be cool! I cannot blame the devs, Verizon has shown us no love except for the quick kiss when they took our money.

I like the Charge, but if I can find someone to buy it I might jump to the Nexus and burn up an upgrade (the benefit of having 5 lines with VZW).
 
Well, the good news is that Imnuts is apparently going to use some of his vacation time trying to port over ICS. If anyone is using InfinityROM, I believe that's going to be put on hold for a while. I don't know any of this for certain, but caught it second hand over at XDA. If it's true, then hopefully he has some luck with the port!
 
Let's not kid ourselves. We should know how samsung operates by now. They'll say "the Droid Charge can't support ICS". To force us to buy the next phone. Don't fall for their BS.
 
Like I said before, they dumped on us with the Charge by selling us a phone with problems and then taking MONTHS to fix it... by that time they acted like it didn't exist except for when Samsung gave them a good version of Gingerbread for it.

With that said, I actually love my phone. Yep, it has a few quirks, but overall it is a good phone IMHO now with GB. It'd probably be better if I ran a custom ROM like dwitherell or something but I haven't 'stoned' up yet.
 
JT's CM9 port is actually very close to being a daily driver(for me, at least). And from what I've heard from a certain Charge dev, he has sources that say there's an internal ICS leak floating around for our Charge. :O

Nice! Can't wait to hear how it runs since the processor/RAM in the Charge may be a little anemic for ICS.

I totaly agree! Samsung and Verizon are a bunch of BS'S.
We will see NO ISC.
