Root Ics Keyboard to /system/app? help!

How would I download the ICS key board from the Play Store, and convert it to a system app, and continuing to get the updates to it? Do I just move it from /data/app/ to system/app? Where does the /data/data/ go then? And how would I remove the stock android keyboard after converting the ICS one to system? I used Hashtags theme chooser to get ICS Elite framework and statusbar, and the stock keyboard looks like crap with it lol.

Idk if it would work at all, considering that gingerbread is a lower sdk than ics. You might find somebody that's ported the ics keyboard to one of their devices, especially if it's a gingerbread, and then give that one a go.

I've actually tried this before, and both with a system app mover and trying to install it as part of a ROM, both times post-move/install all I would get is an infinite loop of force closes. To the point where I couldn't do anything but take the battery out.

And as a rule of thumb, if it's a paid-for app, don't make paid-for apps system apps. They don't play nice with the play store.

Yeah it didn't work so I gave up. But thanks for the help, I just went back to the regular android keyboard. :D
