ICS Long Press Desktop -- Wallpaper???

cwk

Newbie
Since getting the ICS update, I tried to add a widget to a screen. I would usually do that with a long press on a blank spot on my desktop and get a list of apps, widgets. and shortcuts. Now I get an option to change my wallpaper???? Is there a way to customize this? Really bad idea. I'm not fastidious enough about wallpaper to coordinate it with my current outfit, which is the only use I can imagine for this particular "feature."

Am I missing something?

They changed it in ICS. Your widgets and apps are all in your app drawer.

Thanks for the answer, even if it's not what I hoped to hear!

Can I change the default behavior? Seems I could do something more useful and creative than change the wallpaper.

It is only possible if you change your launcher..seems that you are using stock launcher right? If there is no select widget option in your app drawer (usually the tab to the right of the apps tab),try pressing the menu button and sew whether you have an add widget option in there when you are at your home screen...:)

You don't need to be rooted to replace your launcher. ADW or GoLauncher from Google Play are a couple examples or replacement launchers.

i have a buddy that has a razer, i might look and see next time hes over. on my nexus, i hit the apps buttons, its a lil different but the look is basically the same, and its like tabs on the top of the page. for me it has apps, then widgets.

im not a big fan of moving it either, but its rly not a bother since i dont change my widgets and such constanty(i never liked widgets, they seem like power wasters to me).
