ICS Phone/Tablet

I remember reading a while back that Ice Cream Sandwich would supposedly unify the phone and tablet differences. I watched the unveiling of the Galaxy Nexus and ICS, but they didn't mention anything about tablets. Is there something I missed or will they be explaining this more in the future? I did read this article on Phandroid, but it still didn't really say much to how they would come together. Will everything just run 4.0 and be the same? I feel pretty dumb to be this confused on it, but it seems like it would have been something they would have explicitly covered.

After how poorly every Android tablet has sold and given how Apple completely dominates that market, I wouldn'nt expect to see one anytime soon. Take the new Samsung Galaxy Note for instance, they aren't even going to bother releasing it in the US. Xoom, Flyer, Slate, Tab, all the Acer tablets...all failed. Quite obvious no one is really interested in Android tablets at this time.

Android tablets right now are too damn expensive. I saw someone at Best Buy looking at the Transformer. I suggested they look at the Galaxy Tab 10.1 as I think it's a better piece of hardware even if it's pricier. They told me that if they were going to get into that price range they'd just buy an iPad. I couldn't really disagree with that logic. Unless you're an Android fan, there's no reason for the average consumer to pay the same price for an Android tablet that they'd pay for an iPad. Android is awesome on phones, but has not managed to successfully cross the barrier into tablets quite yet.

Not even really sure what an iPad has over an Android tablet for me to consider buying one, apart from an advantage of having the best of both worlds (iOS and Android), and the disadvantage of a dissimilar interface and less customizeability.

I think that's the reason the Samsung event got postponed .. something happened with the tablets.. .because remember the teaser was touting about a great combination..

phone+tablet.. but nothing happened
