ICS Task manager swipe?

If I remember right, when the Gnex came out, we all saw how ICS let you swipe apps away to end them. I don't know if that was a Samsung thing or a ICS thing. Can my Maxx do that with ICS?

Press and hold the home button to see what's running. Swipe to end.

I have been playing with this and I noticed when you swipe them away and then go to the running apps tab it still shows them as open apps, and you have to force close. So does it really end the app, or just give you a way of going back to the app you were running?

I agree and find this to be the case as well. I liked the stock task killer and now its a pain. Yea I can swipe them away but they are still running. Only way to end them is thru running apps settings and end one by one.

I'm pretty sure the apps aren't actually running anymore, they've been cached in the ram. I'm tried out a couple apps, and after swiping then away in the pop up task manager, they no longer appear in System Panel.

This is correct. Thought they show as "running", they are only cached.
