ICS To Eclipse I unrooted to get the OTA but I found out I dont like ICS can I flash back to Eclipse??

Wont let me do it I keep getting a Failed notice. starts then at stage 6 a failed error comes up. I thought I did a backup but the backup I have is the new OTA from Verizon ICS 4.0.4 so am I stuck with this?... I even wiped and tryed to install eclipse again I keep getting a bootloop. do I need to un root first?

No you have to be on GB to flash eclipse. I've always hated fast booting and w/e it was called before........

Try a different download of the stock gb file. Make sure all your requirements are met and see if any specific version of RSD lite is needed. (Haven't fastbooted in a while so sorry that I can't give specifics)

Every single post pertaining to ICS warns you - there is NO flashing back to GB once you've updated. Unfortunately, you are now stuck on ICS.

FWIW, there is also an Eclipse ROM for ICS.

I believe you can still fastboot back. Im almost 100 percent sure.

I surf about 6 different forums including droidrzr.com and you can find talk in every single one of them, very explicitly warning you about not being able to get back to GB once you've accepted the update, so I am unsure of where you guys are getting your information from. If you know something the rest of the RAZR community does not, you should definitely post it up so the developers will know about it too.

Unless, of course, you are talking about the .75 ICS leak, which was fastbootable back. (and rather buggy). But the OTA is .211, which is not.

In the meantime... this is only one of hundreds of threads to which I am referencing when I say there is no going back.

I made a mistake but i did say i was ALMOST 100% and haven't fast booted in a while. I never felt the need to downgrade software so i wouldnt have read one of those posts. Its a good thing that we have many members who can clear up misunderstandings when others make honest mistakes.

OP, let us know if ICS Eclipse works for you and sorry about the wrong info.

^^ this. I tried explaining this to some the other day. You can flash the ginger bread boot image but you can't revert back fully from .211.

Check out roughly post 27 from Matt in this thread:

You can "Fastboot" back to GB, but you end up with this weird limbo-mode where your phone will not actually boot. From that point, you would flash the updated ICS files and boot.img to upgrade from one ICS leak to another. That's how it had to be done prior to .209 (ish).

I'm with ya, bro. Especially when I took the jump to ICS. It has so much to offer that GB didn't... I couldn't imagine going back. I ran .204 bone stock for a couple of weeks and loved it so much better than the custom ROMs from gingerbread. Now that there are solid ROMs for ICS, there just isn't any reason to even consider it.

The next evolution will be when source for 4.0 is finally released so the developers can finally take care of the last few bugs with the AOSP ROMs.
