I am genuinely curious about this too. Having a world radio is part of the reason I got the spec in the first place.
It's my understanding that the phone has the capability now, BUT your sim card is what determines what VZ allows you to connect to, so if you don't have a global sim/account, you can't connect to GSM.
I only partially understood the process. Question is: will the same method work on spectrum? I DO NOT want to use any US carrier, I am going to visit India, that's where I want to keep using my spectrum; I won't be using 4G as well (Don't think they have it there yet).
I will try when my Spec will arrive from US.it doesn't seem that it would be hard to modify. But it would be time consuming and require someone overseas for testing.
Do not sure exactly, but It seems that this is hardware issue. Is it time to get it back to stock form and take it to Verizon? (The local store is dreadful so I am trying to avoid this at all costs) Thanks!
