ICS update for unlocked non telco Australian notes?

I bought my beautiful Galaxy Note from Kogan.com.au (awesome mind you, price and 4 days delivery only) about 5 weeks ago, love it

Anyone got any news or thoughts on when ICS will be rolled out to those especially who bought through a retailer such as Kogan?

i.e. not through a carrier, so the update would I assume, be via Samsung directly?

I would root it but can't be bothered and don't want to risk it, especially if it's not far away

There are no Australian Notes.

It would have been imported from elsewhere in the world.

So, it all depends on which country your Note is from.

That will dictate when you get the ICS update.

Example. I live in Canada, but my Note is from France.

I will get the update when it is available for French Notes.



If you go through your settings, about info and post the following I can tell you what country it's from.

here is the info from mine you need to post

Android version: 2.3.6

snowmaan, i got my note from kogan a week ago...it came from hong kong, it told me there was an update as soon as i turned it on...updated to ics straight away....go figure!!

Hey!

Have you connected your phone to your computer using samsung KIES?

If you can - connect it and on the firmware page - what is the 3 letter code it shows AFTER the firmware info?

As example - mine shows (XEF)

I connected it to Kies, and voila, it's got a firmware upgrade available, happy days!!!

Woo hoo, its now up to 23% and am v excited now

Backed up in a dodgy way by copying all the files to my laptop via usb and exported contacts via export function in sms app

Fingers crossed now....

Now, I just need to work out how to change the lock screen from the Go Locker one I downloaded, back to the regular ICS Samsung version.

I changed back from Go Launcher as I wanted to have the real ICS feeling, well Samsungs verion at least, for a few days again, and just can't get the lock screen back to stock standard

I bought mine unlocked from harvey Norman...does this mean that it's Aussie or imported from somewhere....waiting on ics...Australia seems to be in the dark ages on this update.... Can anyone help please?
