The other day Vodafone released their ICS firmware and, bundled with it, was their modem, BULP6.
Because I am rooted, I remembered flashing the LP6 modem back in January. Since then I've flashed 2 or 3 other modems as they have been released and am currently using LPS which is on the latest XEO firmware for Poland.
It got me to wondering what was in the various ICS builds that have been released and, as you can see from some of the samples below, they do vary. Of course one would expect there to be variations to take into account the region and the carrier. For instance, the modem BULP6 is Vodafones, (BU), version of LP6.
What I think it does show is that there is no such thing as a, "one-size-fits-all", ICS firmware but rather, a complex array of basebands, modems and CSC's, (Consumer Software Customisations), for different regions and carriers.
Also it demonstrates, that if you are posting about ICS, it is a good idea to include details of which version you are running... perhaps even include it in your User CP details or signature, (see User CP near the top of this page), as the problem you are facing may not affect other ICS users.
To see which ICS firmware you are running... type *#1234# into your phone's dial pad.
