Ok, I broke down and decided I would try the latest ICS leaked on Sammobile today. The build is XXKLP1 and a CF-Root is available on XDA Forum.
This build is very close to complete. I did have a couple of random reboots while doing TI Backup Restores but that's about it. I have not had any FC's, Camera works well, Video works well, Radio works well and it supports my ADW Launcher.
I had some issues the first time I loaded due to a noob move. I restored my TI backup and included system data. Don't do this!!! I couldn't get calendar or Exchange services to load. They crashed constantly on reboot. I did a CWM Data wipe and then restored application without data. I then selected key apps and restored data to those apps only.
If you are using Exchange for email and your company has imposed a policy that makes you use a PIN or PASSWORD lock on your device, you won't be able to use face unlock. I assume Microsoft will have to update Exchange to understand what face unlock is.
I find the build smooth and quick. The battery may be a bit of a problem compared to the great Siyah and NEAK but it wasn't bad. I was doing a lot with my phone over 4 hours and burned half my battery. I wish I could turn on battery percentage, can't seem to find a way without going into settings and checking battery. That is the only place I can find how much percentage I have left.
The bugs I have found so far are: Contacts: There is typo in configuring how you want them sorted. Your choices are Last Name or Family Name. Last name is really First Name. Also, if you setup speed dial for contacts, it won't let you pick the number for your contact if they have multiple numbers. It just takes the first one in the contact table.
Lock Screen: I can't get it display the weather even though I configured it and told it to display it. Also when you select to display weather, it won't display owner info.
I am going to run this as a daily user for awhile and see how it goes. They are very close and I will definately install the next version when it comes out. KPA was only a week old when KL1 came out so I expect to see one by next Friday...
P.S - ICS has a very cool task manager. You have to see it understand how it works.
