I say we batten down the hatches, toss all other work, and get ICS to work.
This is my call for the StormDroid team, Biotic, and any other devs that wish to help, join together in holy matrimony to create a working ICS rom for the Ally. Wait... Matrimony?
if we get ics working.
like this thing can run it -__- why cant ours? lol
LG GT540 Optimus - Full phone specifications
Project IceCreamSwift - Android 4.0.4 base on CyanogenMod 9 with 2.6.35.10 kernel - xda-developers
People can get this to run ICS:
HTC DROID ERIS - Full phone specifications
Here is someone using ICS on Droid Eris: Cricket Flashed HTC Eris 4.0.3 ICS - YouTube
One of the main reasons why we haven't seen a hacked 2.3 and 4.0 is because LG never released the source code for the Ally. That's why gnm's 2.3 didn't have working radio, and 4.0 probably wouldn't either.

Thats good! .. mine is unactivated anyways .. but wifi will still work right?
Wait, could this be the source code?

I'm downloading that right now, but since Megaupload is no more, I have to use LG's servers.
The fact that the post was made in 2010 and the filename has 2.1 in it make me almost 80% sure this is the source for Android 2.1 for the Ally, which may provide some help getting radio/wifi on GB/ICS, but we'll need to look at the source first.
If we do find a way to get ICS stable enough to use, it will take time. We'll have to fux with a lot of things and it looks like we'll need to make a kernel for ICS as well.
