Help ID, Delete Loaded Apps on HTC A9191?

Hi all- I am a smartphone "newbie", and an Android newbie to boot, in USA. Just got a direct from China HTC A9191, box labeled HTC Desire HD. I am trying to discern some of the loaded apps that have icones but Chinese characters, to delete what I don't need/want.
If I knew how to take "screen shots" I'd send some in, but I don't. Anyone have any tips on how to go about seeing what I have on this? The applications manager in Settings does not really answer my questions. Thanks!

Generally you can't delete the apps that are pre installed on the handset. You need to be what's known as rooted. It's just like having admin access on a windows account.

Can't you change the handset to English? Or are you struggling to find out how to do that?
