I'd love to know how many still have UDP.

I voluntarily ditched my unlimited data plan when I moved my wife's line from her parents' account over to mine a couple years ago when the More Everything plans were released. We share 3GB/month. I have WiFi at work and we both use it at home. She uses 4G once in awhile while she is at work to look something up. Her iPhone tends to randomly use data at strange times in the background, but that's beside the point.

Together we use about 2GB on average. Sometimes less. Sometimes more if we go on a vacation because we upload pictures of the kids to social networks to share with our families. The ME plans actually worked out nicely for us. I also use the Edge option for my phone.

Dang... I really drank that corporate Kool-Aid didn't I? lol

Just curious, what is the cost difference? I'm not overly ("cold dead hands") tied to the UDP except that I'm getting it at around $28/month. For me, if I could get a 6-8 GB plan with free tethering for the same price I might be tempted to make the move.

At one point they upped my plan from 2 GB to 3 GB at no cost to me. It comes out to be a bit cheaper but not significantly. However the free tethering is nice since I only buy WiFi tablets.

I still have two Unlimited phones. Our 6 month average is ~19GB but last month we did 24GB. Our MotoXs are almost two years old so I'm starting to watch Swappa for something new. No way we're giving up Unlimited.

I gave up my Unlimited VZW plans. I'm now unlimited with Net $10. Three lines and still $100 /month cheaper than VZW.

I am staying with Verizon simply because of needing the better coverage map.... see my avatar, we are sparse out here.... the also rans just don't push their wares over the fences far enough...

I did a voluntary usurp of my Unlimited Plan because it just didn't make sense to pay the extra amount for it, when I never used more than 1 gB/month in my life. I have always lived where internet and WiFi is available when at home...

Now, if I had been unfortunate enough to have bought my house another 5 miles north of where I am now, internet just don't exist. Unless you buy one of the "over the air" guys to a special receiver/WiFi box. or, you go with HughesNet urp!!! Either one of those gives you almost 2 mbps on a good day. had that been the case, I would have stuck with VZW Unlimited for sure as it gives us between 20-40 mbps depending on how far from the towers we are.

I have four lines with unlimited data, and I'm loathe to kill off any of them. I don't know how many of you jumped on the data promotion in January 2010 that gave us unlimited data for $9.95 a month per line, but I did. And that promotion hasn't ended! So we've paid $10 per line for unlimited data - on Verizon - for the last 5 1/2 years! They hate me, I think :p :D

I still got mine. Been out of contract since last year and I've been paying retail for my phones for the last 2 years. I've used 20GB once in a month. Most of the time, I am using around 10 GB per month.

I'm single line at 8GB and $107/mo.

On the other hand I am using a Droid Turbo (64GB) that cost $250 ($150 after selling back my Droid X).

(See the other thread on the soaring prices of phones. My guess is that this is the reason.)

My UDP only racks up 1 to 6Gbs per month. I know I'm not a huge data user, but I won't be giving up unlimited data anytime soon.

I wish I had the foresight to include my extra lines with UDP... but, I only did it for my personal line as the other users were lucky to be smart enough to do a text.... and this before smartphones were well known...

I had to drop UDP when I had to add on 4 smartphones here last year.... then 1 went away, but we still have 3. so, the new T-Shirt plan is going to work pretty good for me.... 6 gB is more than we will ever use anyway.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm not tied to the UDP but its nice knowing its there. But if I was to keep it I would be paying $180/mo, if I switch to the 12gb plan i'm looking at $140/mo. I don't use a ton of data on my lines, maybe around 10gb/mo so i'm a bit torn.

I got on that for both of my lines, with my 20% company discount on top of it. We've had essentially unlimited everything (1400 minutes, more than we could use) for years for $138/month for two phones. I just logged into myverizonwireless and it's now estimating that my new bill will be $160. The new $20/line fee must be discounted with my company discount.

Good for you, Scooter. I ran the numbers and right now, with four UDP lines, I'm looking at a near $330 phone bill. The XXL Plan will reduce that to a manageable $208. I have until the 22nd to make my decision, but it's looking more and more like it's bye bye UDP :(

I have a 2000 minute plan with 4 lines UDP. I'm looking at a pretty steep price jump. That comes to about $60/line right now. But with another $80 a month on top of that (plus fees, fees and fees), it's going to be a jump up.

Chief, you must be thinking about going to the same plan I have then,
I am on the XXL or 6gB/month for 4 lines.

Your taxes vs my taxes will be different, my local city charges tax on my phone.

My cycle renews at midnight on the 25th of each month, so at 00:01 on the 26th I start all over again on data use.

Yeah, I'm looking at jumping to the 18GB XXL plan for our four lines. If that's not enough of a cushion, I can always bump it up to 20GB. I see no reason why we can't stay within 18GB, though. That'll put my bill back to what it should be, instead of up in the stratosphere somewhere like it's going to be.

I will never give it up! Two lines that use 100-125 GB each. Live in the sticks with no DSL or cable internet. But fast 4G LTE at 20-35 mbps. Son plays online, hubby does PS4, I surf and we all stream Netflix. 4 computers. Sorry but we use every bit of ULD. Nah - not really sorry. I pay the wifi hotspot charge for each line. Our bill is $285/mo. Lines with 100 GB now are $750 so I will not be paying $1500 for phone and internet.

It is the streaming that uses it. Most of the other is not so much. I will gladly pay the extra $20 for each line they are adding if they just leave it the hell alone.

Oh, I'm going to let Verizon have it when I call on them to switch. Basically, I have kept MY end of the deal: paid on time, in full, every single month for 8 years. Now suddenly THEY don't like the deal so they're upping the ante and pricing me out. They're re-negging on a valid agreement between both parties... but they have the high-power attorneys and if I tried to re-negotiate the deal, they'd come after me with everything but the kitchen sink. I will have to switch to the XXL Plan, but I will let them know, with no ambiguity, that I do so under duress and extraordinary protest.

2 lines, 1400 minutes shared, unlimited data and text. 205 a month for both after taxes and fees. Still undecided if I'm going to stay or move to T-Mobile after the additional charge. Use about 25gb each.
