Root Ideos Roms on M835

Newbie
now that someone posted the stock rom and we have custom recovery has anyone flashed any roms from the ideos seeing as thery are basically the same phone

what works?
what doesn't work?

and if not then what would it take to port a rom
 
ok, well u see my other posts- aparently whatever overclock kernel is being used in dronix and fusionideos the m835 is, i guess stable up till like 652 mhz anything after that and apparently my phone didnt like it so it crashed. also learned that whatever radio gets installed with fusionideos, it crashes the phone apk and makes the no uim thingy pop up-(that's my own hypothesis).
dronix has phone but no mms/internet, but wifi works

I uploaded the stock rom, and also tested Fusionideos, Dronix, and Gingerman v7 and v7.2(nightly). Don't bother installing Gingerman as you'll get alot of errors. Dronix and Fusionideos work as far as booting into it and making calls, but Data and MMS will not work, seems it doesn't have the information for MetroPCS. I tried adding the APN manually, but still didn't get data to work. Therefore, I've regretfully been running stock ROM :(. Hope someone can create a working custom ROM for this.
 
can get ubuntu running by tonight if you guide me in the right direction i can edit what need be im new to this but have basic knowlegde of most computer things

evidently i didnt do something right cuz now i get the "no UIM, emergency calls only" thingy n have absolutely NOTHING as far as mms, sms, or service for that matter.
i had done exactly what the page for mertoff said -booted at least once then flashed on the phone after moving the .zip to sd-root
now im trying to load the stock nandroid i had copied from my mom's phone(m835-unrooted) n still get the no uim crap after it's loaded-

Did you try flashing the stock zip

this is the problem i've come across...

im using the update.zip and ALSO the M835.stock.zip and still nothing- i get the errors mentioned above:mad:
once b4, i had flashed the nandroid backup i made off my mom's phone (m835, too- cant beat that deal:D) which wasnt rooted and it cleared up the no UIM issue, but now i think the metroff thing does something which mite be beyond my present knowledge-
 
so what problem are you getting now?

anybody try flashing ascend roms i hear they work better but i wanna know what works and what doesn't b4 i decide to play around
 
no internet on stock rom/no mobile network.
that's my current prob.

aparently my Ti. backup was corrupt n not loading files right, i guess.
loaded an earlier 1 I had made n stored on my comp BUT now i got fon but no internet n it says so in my device info thingy.
ima try n reflash my mom's rom again n see if that clears everything up like last time.
oh n what i ended up doing was going to Ti backup n wiping/ reloading all prog data. rm fon n restored an earlier version ,along with all mms type apps cuz in batch it kept freezing when it got to my email app.
 
oh and i still cant flash the stock rom posted elsewhere on here.
UJ n CWM plus fastboot cant load that rom on my fon...o_0

Everything I flash now, has no radio since i flashed to Dronix... No idea how to get my Radio back. Tried everything you said too and can't seem to find a solution. But I must say, Dronix is very nice.
 
catyclism works but the phone reads as not cdma, otherwise the rom's ok till 10-12 hrs later it starts doin weird things like random force closes of android.media-something-the hell, erases all user apps transferred bn thru TI backup
blutooth, gps dont work. screen orientation doesnt work either... i guess it suxx then...
 
All Roms are 'in the works' right now so there's no doubt that there wil be bugs. I'd really wait for a strong, stable one, there's one almost to its peak but...

awww CRAP!
anyhow i just had an "aaa haaa!!"
moment. i think my file system is now like the ideos and so the phone is sim locked, even after nandroid recovery.
otherwise, everything would b ok, but the prob looks like i just need to somehow revert back to a stock file framework.
any advice/tut's out there?
 
just fixed the problem by flashing the stock rom from the other thread just unzip into the the backup folder(inside clockworkmod folder)and restore from backup
 
Ascend ROMS work perfectly with M835 except for the screen size, things are a little bit big but not really a problem. WiFi Works! Yay.
 
I have a question, I am NEW at all this new fangled technology ha ha, anyway if my huawei m835 is using an ascend rom, does that mean that I use updates for the m860? I know it sounds logical, but experience has taught what one would think logical usually isn't.
 
since writing the last post, the screen size from the ascend rom drove me crazzzzyyyy so I went and found playful God's mate35 rom and it is cool. lol I love the little android all zoot suited out with his tommy gun when it turns on lol...... Thank you playful God...
