Root If I install a new Kernel

If I install hydra kernel does it remove all my apps and stuff or does it just update the kernel? Would love to have an undervolted, overclocked kernel.

No it won't. Do a backup but if all goes well everything will be just as you left it.

Not that I've read, the camera problem is due to Froyo, and lack of drivers, installing a kernel wouldn't affect that.

Correct, installing a kernel should not do anything to the camera.
