Root If I root?

If I root, can I still use banking apps? I'm guessing Knox is dependant on the rom I choose, but I remember from when I last rooted a phone (many many moons ago) that online banking was no longer available because of root.

Probably not.... well not without finding some way of cloaking the root from your banking app.,,
