If i use CF Root. can i still install Ice Cream Sandwich when its released?

I want 2 root my Galaxy S2 so i can use Chainfire 3D. If i do root the phone with CF Root can i still update the firmware to Ice Cream Sandwich or not?

CF Root is a kernel not firmware so im assuming i will be able 2?
