I'm getting bored with my Droid!!!

I have had this device for a month now and I am starting to get bored. I would appreciate if the "true droiders" could help me out in re-sparking the flame.. Please and thank you
 
get in a jacuzzi with it. That might rekindle the spark. And if it's in a case, undress it before you put it in the water.
 
Are you rooted?
Can you WiFi tether?
What ROMs have you played with?
Are you over/clocked?
Any themes installed?
Have you designed any wallpapers for your DROID?
Any custom art at all?
How about customized icons?
How many apps are installed? 50? 100? 150? (I'm finally down to 138!)

How about a custom boot animation?
 
It's a great device, with a lot of utility for daily life. I am not sure what more you would like it to do. Maybe you should buy the next best thing and see how that goes for you.
 
Joe, that is craaazy nice!!! too bad u weren't my next door neighbor because i would invite you over for Droid 101. as for the other responses, i will never learn, if i am never taught. not being rude, but i was under the assumption that this forum is the place to go to learn these things. no need to hold back all of this knowledge. if that were the case the world would be clueless.. similar to me when it comes to customizing like you all. i REALLY do appreciate all the replies tho. i just would like to catch up (ketchup) rather than being mustard
 
not trying to be rude at all, but i in fact am in LOVE with my droid, and its not rooted. the fact that i can get on it at anytime, use the where app and find just about anything i want in any area, at anytime, makes me happy, from facebooking with friends, aol using meebo, i mean come on. if you have a car charger, and live in a fairly big city like i do, download waze, and drive around town looking for the little snowflakes, they give you bonus points and help create the whole "user generated maps" i dont know if anyone eles does that but i love waze, soon as i get a car charger for my droid, im gonna spend some time driving exploring the city.

and to joe, WOW, your phone is amazing, if i could do half the stuff that you had on your phone i would pretty much do an arranged wedding with my droid. im always lookin at the forums to see what wild and crazy things you can do with the phone, i have never had this much fun with my iphone, and now that i have my droid, i wont be going back,

and btw, i unplugged my droid today at around 8:15am this morning, and it is now 11:32 pm, ive been almost 16 hrs on one charge listening to music, making phone calls and surfing the web, texting, you name it. and i still have 20% left, i would NEVER be able to do that with my iphone, this lady at my job has hers on the charger all day cause she can never keep a charge, i love this!!

Now are you bored :D

I finally rooted and started installing custom roms and other fun stuff this weekend, and I've been completely giddy about it all day. Yes, this makes me an utter nerd(ette), but it's been all sorts of fun. The worst part is, despite me working with all sorts of geeky folks, no one really appreciates when I grin and tell them I just overclocked my phone. I did, however, make my iphone owning co-worker look up my phone's wifi network just to taunt him >:D. On the other hand, he had an app showing what sushi was safe from mercury. Which he could only look up on my network, Muhahah!

Thanks. Just remember, the search tool is your friend. I probably spend more time using the "search" feature of these DROID forums then most people, and that's why I know how to do this stuff. This is my first smart phone, and I'm no genius. But I refuse to get bored, and this DROID is my playground. :D

Just search for "boot animation". But you have to be a little savvy, and pretty good in Photoshop, or a like s/w.

@Messenger13 how did you get so many pages using sweeter Home... thats using beta 2 right? I can't figure out how to get more then the five that are there...very nice with what you have done to your Droid tho...

How are you bored.. it's been about a month for me too and I can't stay off the thing.. same for everyone i know with it.. so many things to do.. and learn .. really there are only a few things that my Droid doesn't do.. . like FLASH.. but that's coming out soon.. anything else.. well you just need to find the right app..

i agree 110% this is just one phone you, or me just cant put down, if i figure out how to safely root this thing, ill be happy, but i gotta do some more research

I'm only seeing 5 home screens. The rest are just showing with different folders open and widgets enabled.

edit: unless you count the landscape screens. Just turn the phone in landscape mode and you can edit it. The changes stay separate from the portrait mode of the same screen.
 
my mother-in-law has had the same phone for 20+ years .... my grandfather 30+ years. if you don't want to get bored with your stuff, stop watching commercials.

i'm not trying to be mean. i have personally developed a "problem" with product discontent. i have to have to newest and best of whatever. i feel ya bro. but i can honestly say that i don't get bored with the droid. i just had to realize that it's a phone. it does more than any phone needs to. i have game consoles, pcs, laptops, 2 bands, 6 guitars, movies, video cameras..... :) ..... and fishing poles to keep me from getting bored. most of us do. have you spent $200 on anything that compares? ahhhh, maybe. i think it's the best $200 i've spent in a long time. think about the $ per hour value. not to mention new things keep coming up for this thing constantly. as we speak (type) there are people hard at work developing tv-out capabilities that will take this device to another level. i know other phones have this, but THEY are not the droid. playing games on a full size screen, watching movies, pictures, web .... these will be invaluable. no laptop necessary on vacation/buisness trips. just plug into the hotel's tv. take it to a friends house ... get bored???? watch a movie straight from the droid to their tv.

ahhhh. i'll stop now

With Sweeter Home, you do have technically 10 screens ... 5 portrait, 5 landscape. I am using 5 portrait, and only 1 landscape. I see no need for any other landscape screens ... though this is "subject to change". lol
