I'm infuriated right now...

All day during school I sat patiently in my classes just waiting for this thing to be in my hands after school.

So after school my dad takes me to the local authorized retailer. The guy says they don't have the phone yet but the delivery guy should be there in about an hour... I figured "fine that'll do" and put down the $300 "pre-payment" so I could simply pick it up later and not have to worry about that.

The guy said he would call me when I could pick it up (this was around 4 PM).

I thought the store closed at 9 PM like most other Verizon stores, so I waited patiently for the call, because my dad said he wouldn't go back if they didn't even have the phone.

Lo and behold, he doesn't call back and the store closed at 7 PM (for reference, it's now 8:11 PM).

I can't stand the wait anymore. I have an essay due tomorrow and that just ticked me off and I simply can't do it.

Looks like I'm getting my Nexus tomorrow. :mad:

Needless to say, I don't think I'll be going back to that store anymore after this...

It is a cruel irony, that your optimism helped drive the pre-release thread, and yet you don't get the device on the opening day.

That said, after our wait, one day will not make or break.

I look forward to what you think about the GN.

Dang! I'm sorry to hear that man. If it makes you feel any better I had a crappy experience buying the phone because they wouldn't honor my living social discount for the phone itself and then wouldn't take it for the accessories because I didn't print it out. But the phone is well worth the wait and at this time tomorrow you will be happily playing with yours.

Well by the time I could get my money back I would already have the phone anyways... plus the guys are being nice and giving it to me unopened with only the activated SIM card. But still, the least they could have done is called me to tell me they didn't have it tonight. That would have at least tempered my feelings.

Seriously, your education is more important. Hopefully you focused on your studies but for some reason I don't think you did lol.

Eh we didn't do anything of much significance in any of my classes today. In fact I could have missed today and not been at any disadvantage.

Anyways, I've talked to my mom and she's a bit more understanding of the situation than my dad. I have a free period tomorrow starting at 9:30 and my mom said she'd pick up the phone and bring it to me at school lol. At least I can show all my friends (whom I told I would have the phone in school on Friday) :P

Well, at the least you didn't burn your sick day and NOT ended up having THE PHONE in your possession. Use that sick day tomorrow XD
 
the only authorized retailer i've done business with is best buy. i don't trust the little mom and pop "honest abes" cell phone shops.

i would deal with costco and radio shack too.
 
You can't be too mad bro! You didn't dot your i's and cross your t's.

I would have checked closing time on the interwebs and then I would have called him 30 minutes prior to closing if he never called.

Gotta be proactive in life or you'll get left in the dust.
