I'm leaving Metro

GodTalks

Newbie
I have had the worst service for the past 3 weeks. Late text, voice mails and missed calls with no notification. I thought T-Mobile addition would enhance our service but it has not. I have the connect and have concluded that it is destined to be a paper weight as a result of difficulty in the development area(not faulting the developers). It's internals should make it a sweet CM 10 device. So I bid this phone and service farewell! 😃

If I come into money, I will leave Metro as well... Until then my Connect with Number 2 is sufficient until that time comes.

I have plans to buy a Nexus 4 and going with Straight Talk Wireless when that time comes. My complaint isn't much with the service I have been provided; more with phones with a ton of bloatware, and false promises of updates (like us getting ICS, which never happened). I want the plain ASOP experience with only things that I want on it, with updates direct from Google. I don't want to wait for the phone manufacturer to release a update, or even worse, waiting on the carrier (which with prepaid carriers, generally doesn't happen)

same here. if i had money i would go over to t-mo and get the gs3/4 but hopefully we can get data working on CM10 . then maybe i would stay on Metro.

Well technically you are already with T-Mobile. If you can wait it out with Metro, down the line I believe this phone will be useless on this network, and MetroPCS should offer you deals on new MetroPCS or T-Mobile handsets. (Because they are shuttering the 2g/3g PCS CDMA, while merging the LTE with Tmobiles LTE, the Connect 4G will become semi useless, as it can't access Tmobiles HSPA+ 3G GSM)

I would say, if you can wait with this info, figure out something that will work for you. Either rolling back to a ZVA based rom, or Metro's VV3 (the last rootable update for the Connect). Or if you dont mind the bloatware, not being able to root... VV5 (Which I wouldn't choose lol).

I personally am waiting for CM10 become ready for everyday use, or at least semi stable with everything working for the most part. When that happens I will install it. Until then I am currently using Idrifta's Number Two, which is ZVA based, and works well for me.

Wow this news from y'all kinda makin me worry, i also have a connect, and at the beginning they showrf me how fast it could be when it finally breaks in, told me it takes roughly five weeks, then the phone swallows all your apps in the download tray and puts them in the phone permanently, and at the same occasion forces a permanent classier looking permanent 4g icon that never leaves until phone broken! Well, its been five weeks as of today, and still nothin, could it be late? Was anyone else told something similar? Did phone EVER swallow apps? Has it EVER had long term 4g? How old is it?

Who told you this?

Yep I'm out too. Got the Nexus 4 and a sim kit on T-Mobile. I will pass the Connect to my mom if she wants it. :p

That didn't last long. Kid broke her Motion so the Connect is back online. Maybe she will learn to take better care of her stuff.
