Root I'm new here,and having kernel problems

I installed cyanogenmod today then i installed chevyno1's ultra low voltage 1.2ghz kernel. Afterwards when i tried my wifi it said error and does not work. i tried several other kernels as well with the same problem.

The last nightly I could use without Wifi problems was #23. It's the ROM, not the kernel, afaik. I'm currently using UD3 with Chevy's new kernel and having no issues.

It worked when i had the stock kernel though. I had Cyanogenmod 6.1.2. Thought about trying the ss gb 5.0 rom. Maybe the rom and kernel dont agree?
