Image viewer App

Please excuse me as I am a Newbie to this whole App thing and will soon purchase my first Android Smart Phone.

Here goes anyway. I have a Bushnell Trail camera that stores images and video clips in it's own internal memory or on an SD card if one is installed. Once in awhile I want to view the images/clips but have to remove the card and take it back to my computer to view them (PITA). The images are jpg and the video clips are avi. The trail camera has a mini A/V output jack and USB port.

What I need is a portable external viewer that I can connect to the trail camera. Is there an Android App for a Smartphone that will allow me to use it as the viewer? Better yet, allow me to transfer the images/clips from the trail camera to the phones memory card?

Thanks in advance.

For to read the memory of your Bushnell camera, your phone needs USB OTG ability and an USB OTG cable for to connect.
Note, a lot of Android smart phones haven't USB OTG ability, so look for it on the specs of your prospective phone.

JPG pics should show the phone's stock gallery, even better would be to install QuickPic from Play Store.
For the AVI videos you'd install MX Player from Play Store.

why make it troublesome like this. You can first copy your pictures and video clips to your PC and then copy to your Android phone. the Android itself get a photo viewer. For avi video, you can use MX Player or Video Player which you can search at Google Play Store.

USB OTG on a phone or tablet is a very useful property and using it is a piece of cake :)

Thanks for the responses folks and the education. One phone I am considering is the Samsung Galaxy S3 and it has USB OTG ability. Also read up on the required cable which is inexpensive. Thanks again.

Have you connected your phone to your tablet via usb ?
You mean a phone in host mode (USB OTG) connect to a tablet in client mode (USB mass storage) for read the tablet's internal and external SD card?
Could work, but I haven't tried it yet :D

I connect my phone to SD cards (via USB card reader) and thumb drives.
