Help IMAP emails not updating on server

I've downloaded K-9 and set it up using the same IMAP settings as the stock client and I really like the speed of K-9. My problem comes in with the Yahoo! IMAP server, specifically updating the status of messages on my phone back to Yahoo. When I read an email on my phone it changes from a bold font to normal font as it should. When K-9 next polls the server it then indicates that I have additional messages unread but they won't display in K-9 as they've already been read on the phone. When I use my PC to check Yahoo I see that reading or deleting an email on the phone isn't having any effect on the Yahoo side. And every time K-9 polls the server it adds more and more unread emails even if they've already been read so I wind up with 15 or more showing as unread when it's really just reloading the same couple of messages which Yahoo server says haven't been read.

I didn't have any problems with this using the stock client. Any ideas?

Check this...

In the account (not the Unified Inbox, but the individual email inbox), press Menu -> More -> Settings -> Account settings - > Fetching mail. Check to see if "Sync server deletions" is checked.

This was my problem, and once checked, YMail and GMail servers were updated accordingly.

Thanks for the response. I double checked my settings and Sync server deletions is checked and 'when I delete a message' is set to 'delete from server'. The problem persists. Changes from the server side are reflected on the phone but phone changes don't reflect to the server.

I'm having the exact same issue with K-9 after six months of problem free use with my Yahoo account. I've tried several different configurations that allow mail to be downloaded and sent from the phone, but none of them resolves the issue with actions on the phone updating the status on the computer. The timing of the problem appearing was right around the Froyo update on my Fascinate, but I'm not sure. No solutions...just shared frustration at this point.
