[Imap]/ labels in gmail?

[Imap]/Sent
[Imap]/Trash

Why did gmail create these labels? All of them are empty so can I just delete them? I use the gmail app and not the HTC one.

It's usually other, non-gmail specific, programs that create those folders.

The gmail app should know to use the proper ones, so yeah so ahead and delete them.

Ah I see... so gmail must have created them when I was previously using the HTC mail app. Thanks for your help

You can hide or remove these in settings on gmail but not sure if the option is there on the hero. I couldn't find it on there anyway

gmail makes them on your gmail pc account through htc app, i actually found it very handy due to deleting a receipt i wished to keep and unfortunately got rid of it until i checked [imap]trash

Is there any adverse effect to deleting these if you don't use the Gmail App? I currently use K9 to check my gmail.
