Help IMEI

Me and my dad have the same phone. Every time he reboots his phone he has to put his IMEI number in because its sim locked, any idea as to how to fix this? Or what could be causing it.

It's not because it's SIM-locked, that just prevents him from putting another carrier's SIM in the phone. It could be that someone set his lock screen password to be his IMEI (how can he remember it?) or it could be that the phone is not working properly.

We figured the problem out, he tapped the sim card lock we nobody could get into the phone after reboot unless they entered the IMEI.
